39.4" Bore, 42" Diameter This series offers numerous models capable of honing bore diameters ranging from 2" (152 mm) to 60" (1.2m). Models are available with stroke capacity from 4' (101 mm) to 80' (24.4m) with reciprocating speeds from 10" to 80' per minute (.3m to 27.5m/minute). Spindle horsepower is available up to 75 HP for handling large bore diameters. Ease of operation is enabled by a PLC based control system and operator interface. The Barnes HH Series Horizontal Honing machines offer a perfect solution for those applications that involve processing of long tubes and cylinders to a very high accuracy and surface finish. The HH Series is designed for significant stock removal at accelerated feed rates. This model of machine offers many of the same features – servo or hydraulic expansion systems, programmable stroke control, variable spindle speed operation, short stroking and dwell – as the vertical line of machines. Barnes Series HH Horizontal-Spindle Features: -Rigid construction for long service life, low cost of ownership and accuracy -Stroke lengths up to 40' (HH-10 and HH-12) and 80' (HH-25) -Single or multiple spindle design available (Model HH-12) -Intuitive, menu-driven, programmable system controller, with color touch-screen HMI -Choice of hydraulic or linear actuator honing tool expansion -Process capability of bores from 1" to 42" diameter (also OD honing capability) -Variety of parts fixturing available for thin wall & thick wall tubes -Expansion system torque monitoring for automatic “tight spot" detection and correction
